@siracusa the ‘immersion’ is indeed a heating element immersed inside a large copper tank that heats the water for the house. It’s typically inside a ‘hot press’ which is a small room or cupboard (closet) specifically for the hot water tank. Heating water in this way is extremely inefficient and costs a fortune in electricity hence the panic of leaving it on for too long. It has become an Irish meme, of sorts.

@siracusa I’m 50, Apple user (and nerd) for 30+ years, surrounded by Macs, iPads and iPhones, got first OS X for my birthday that year, and I’m a tech professional in my day job and I’m excited to see an update to the various UI and I’m sure that Apple can make it work just fine. Just for some balance to your point that no one is on the side for a redesign. I think it’s time and I *like* changes like this.🤷🏻‍♂️ Yes, I know I’m a weirdo.

@atpfm I don’t know how Apple can think of Apple intelligence as a baseline for all products when I’m not allowed to have it on my phone here in Ireland.
Flew to UK last month and was suddenly able to make Genmoji. Came back home and feature disabled. Utterly insane. What am I being saved from, dear EU? 😩🤷🏻‍♂️

@atpfm hoping to amplify this to get feedback. Anyone having weird permission related issues with Sequoia 15.3.1
Been on with Apple support all morning and they aren’t aware of a bigger issue. Any app that needs any kind of special permission is hanging. Sound source, creative cloud, Logic Pro even. Logic thinks every time I launch is the first ever time I used the app. Forces sound pack download over and over. Even logi mouse app will not launch. Tried safe mode and OS reinstall.

@siracusa re Hyperspace, I had ~350,000 files with errors. Not sure what I can do about that. I think it’s permissions but I’ve tried to fix that with no luck. Can you have a ‘fix’ button?
