@Radical_EgoCom @LucaStern @Fosco could you give a practical example of decision making in “scientific socialism” today?
@Radical_EgoCom @LucaStern @Fosco sure I listen (ie read ;) chill man!) but short messaging like this doesn’t suffice for more complex debates like how decisions should be taken in a revolutionary process. In my opinion, they should be INFORMED by science but TAKEN by all involved stakeholders. Let’s say, the question is if to expropriate a specific construction company. We would take this decision by popular vote of the involved workers.
@Radical_EgoCom @LucaStern @Fosco I never claimed syndicalism to be one of those constructed categories, I reject the notion of revolution being driven by science as it introduces formal hierarchy. I’m a scientist myself BTW so I see the value of science, but revolution has to be carried by all not driven by the few. This leads straight to dicatatorship (as it did in most ML-driven states). And this is exactly where we part ways in our strategy.
@Radical_EgoCom @LucaStern @Fosco yeah sure you can create those categories, I just don’t see how a practice from a base union like FAU falls into that constructed dichotomy. We syndicalists view theory and practice as intertwined. We act first and foremost and develop theory in case our actions don’t lead further but never disconnected from the practice. Historically for Germany eg Rocker compiled tons of empirical data for the analyses of FAUD.
@Radical_EgoCom @LucaStern @Fosco let’s keep personal judgements out of this, I didn’t mean to attack you personally just the use of the term „scientific socialism“ in opposition to „utopian socialism“. In your opinion, what exactly makes socialism scientific?
@Radical_EgoCom @LucaStern @Fosco in my practical experience, MLs fail at speaking accessible language and thoughts with union members.
@Radical_EgoCom @LucaStern @Fosco just claiming being scientific doesn’t actually make you scientific. It’s just a desperate attempt of rhetorically discrediting anti-authoritarian workers struggle. Marx used those tactics and was somewhat successful in The Hague International conference. Later most sections revoked the decisions from The Hague (where Bakunin wasn’t present) which lead to the end of the international.
@FAU kommt rum, wird spannend!
