This is a view of the Varick Street approach to the Holland Tunnel, taken from my office window at 6pm today. I've worked in this office since 2008 and the only time Varick Street has looked like this during a weekday rush hour was in spring of 2020 when everything was closed.
I live and work in lower Manhattan and spend 99% of my time here, and it has been like this everywhere I have been this week. Yes, it's early, but so far congestion pricing seems like a miracle.

Wisdom, the world’s oldest known wild bird, has laid an egg at the extraordinary age of 74. While Laysan albatrosses normally live a monogamous life of 12 to 40 years, Wisdom was tagged in 1956 at the age of five and is thought to have produced more than 30 offspring and outlived three mates.
