@edsu noting that there exist certain music streaming services that will fuzzily ”match" your local ripped tracks to the service's own catalog (and then upload your un-matched tracks to "cloud storage”), so as you can play CDN-delivered renditions of that matched subset of your entire library, on any of your various devices, without having had to first "sync" the library to the device
@edsu some might be envious of your wisely deferring the collection-rip, until storage costs had made it sensible to just rip losslessly. Imagine the regrets of someone who might have ripped >1K CDs three times (160kbps MP3, 256kbps AAC, & then lossless)

I asked my elementary school librarian for a “real” book about unicorns, because I couldn’t find any in the nonfiction section, near the other animal books.
She gently informed me that all of the books about unicorns were in the fiction section, and allowed me to draw my own (devastating) conclusion. 😔

@anarchivist @nedraggett I yelped out an involuntary “ohmigod” when she started playing that. Greedily, I went to both nights, and loved every minute of Unwound’s sets, but in some ways TJO playing Rodan was my high point.
