How it started, how it's going
A very difficult hidden object puzzle. 4 colors, 4 types of faces. Make sure the colors don't repeat in any row or column, AND make sure the faces don't repeat. I know how to do one or the other, but how to do both at the same time?

Crazy to think that there was once a time that hackernews had a "good" comment section.

I think I remember 3-4 years ago thinking "wow, am I crazy or is this predictably bad a lot of the time."

And it's not like that thought accounts for the phenomenon, because its exponentially worse in a way that you need to take stock all over again.

I think content follows form, and certain forms of interaction on the internet just create a race to the bottom.

Now this I will admit I do love. It's the way we resort to telling stories with spectacular images. Even if the images aren't literally true, they are true the to meaning and feeling of what they depict. It's why I like the movie big fish, which I think is about the same kind of thing.
