Crazy to think that there was once a time that hackernews had a "good" comment section.
I think I remember 3-4 years ago thinking "wow, am I crazy or is this predictably bad a lot of the time."
And it's not like that thought accounts for the phenomenon, because its exponentially worse in a way that you need to take stock all over again.
I think content follows form, and certain forms of interaction on the internet just create a race to the bottom.
