@Rhube @dangillmor rednote also happens to be excellent and the Chinese users are welcoming us with open arms and great attitudes. It feels like we are engaged in a direct people’s diplomacy which can only be a good thing considering the escalating tensions between our two governments.
@dangillmor TikTok refugee here. It really looks like the majority of us have gone to #xiaohangshu. Some of the more “professional” creators seem to be exploring longer form content on YouTube. No one who is informed is migrating to any meta owned apps. I am here to explore the #fediverse concept as an alternative to twitter which I never really liked.

Ok - I am here now - though a text scroll was never my preferred method of socializing. I like the idea of this being more distributed and it seems a little less goofy than blue sky which is choked to the gills with ‘blue no matter who’ people who have not thought things through enough.
