I quite like the photo but the iPhone has done some automatic contrast processing around the trees that creates a halo effect a bit like an unsharp mask. It cannot be removed using the iOS adjustments.
As well as the bigger aperture this is where am SLR would be superior. We talked about taking an SLR to New York but decided against it because it’s far less convenient. A smartphone camera does a good enough job *most* of the time.
