Apparently documents handled by previous administrations are held on NARA, which is a nightmare to browse. Wonder if I can find the old documents. Probably is a standard policy to 404 previous admins documentation if the PRA Act stands true.

@hacks4pancakes I hope this isn't out of place to ask on such a kind a well thought out post. Do you have any suggestions for finding mentors in the ICS security space that aren't necessarily at my org?
@da_667 thanks for that! It seems I misspoke in my inexperience and was actually referring the the MAC on the virtual adapter used to connect pfsense WAN interface to the bridged network. I recorded the MAC address after esxi generated it and made the dhcp lease for it, but it doesn’t seem to be working. My dhcp server logs don’t show the MAC in any attempted DORA communication (discover or request). I am considering rebuilding the entire lab from scratch just for the experience haha.
@da_667 I followed the esxi branch of the time and I haven't had an issue until recently. It seems like the bridge vswitch doesn't hold a Mac address. I figured it out via the DHCP leased IP dropping. I observed the Mac appearing and disappearing in my unifi client list but I've never seen a virtual nic go bad before. Ever see such an anomaly during your research?
