So, my kid started watching this show called Miraculous: The Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir. Being a responsible parent, I wanted to make sure the content is age-appropriate, so I watched it. I binge-watched all of what is currently available in my region.
The show reminds me of a lot of 80s cartoons from the US; it's trope-y, it's corny, a lot of it is villain-of-the-day, and the major story arcs move at a pretty glacial pace by modern standards.
That said, I am (ostensibly) a whole entire grown-ass adult and I freakin' ADORE this show. I wonder if I should be worried.
@SimonJohnGreen I think it's fun as hell. I DID turn down the incidental banter (it's great they give an option for that), because I was disappointed that it wasn't as varied as that in FFXV. Also the writing isn't great, but I definitely think it doesn't deserve the hate it's getting.
But the mechanics! I find them to be smooth and satisfying. The traversal and combat are on point, and the variety of spells and how the game encourages you to switch between different colors of magic is really good.
If you're thinking about it, it certainly couldn't hurt to try the demo.
