For comic creators, AfterShock's bankruptcy means tremors of uncertainty and financial worry. I spoke with creators working with the company to find out what this week meant for them, and what might lie ahead.

A recent bankruptcy filing by a comics publisher has resulted in multiple stories of non-payment to creators, some of whom question whether they will ever see compensation for the work they have performed.

I guess this means that it's all the more important we share each other's posts/toots and profiles in hopes of finding each other again. I'm happy to say since April when I joined, I've found a slew of new and wonderful artists that brighten my feed every day. I hope that as we each find those we temporarily lose, we discover new and vibrant folks that stir our creative hearts just as well!

Years on twitter have warped my ability to assess my vibes on a social media site. Is my Mastodon personality too unhinged? Hinged to excess? I have no idea. I'm lost in a sea of hinges.
Among other things to say about Kevin Conroy: his contribution to this year's DC Pride Special -- about creating a heroic mask out of personal pain, and becoming the fiction you need to be -- might be the best Batman origin ever told. And it's not even about Batman at all.
