Multi-instrument musician recording as Bloodless Mushroom (and some others). https://soundcloud.com/bloodlessmushroom

@Riley It's like "nobody else is making sounds quite like what I want to hear, so I have to make them".

But if you do find a good way to build an audience, let me know.

Right now I'm convinced the formula is "work your butt off for 50 years, and eventually you'll make progress".

@Riley I feel your pain. I've been making music for 20 years, 10 albums released, and still only make $5 per year in streaming royalties.

Performing live is the only thing that ever made a difference - but releasing instrumental stuff on the internet never resulted in much (and I've tried every kind of promotion).

Sure, it's not the best music in the world, but it's incredibly hard to build a following for instrumental music, so I only do it because I can't /not/ do it.

@hupfen Never heard of 'em. Being too lazy to look it up right now, I'm guessing based on the name it's a bit like My Dying Bride? (used to love 'em, haven't listened in nearly a decade)
@hupfen You know about Tixie.com, right? How have I not seen The Mighty Missoula listed yet? :D
@Riley I opened a browser tab to check out your Storybook music a few days back and now that I'm catching up on checking out new music it looks like it's gone... did you move your music to some other platform?
@thelsdj That one doesn't give me the "hey that's not a real horn" double-take. Fun to see this piece evolve. :)
@thelsdj I really like this, especially with the added percussion. But to me it sounds like there's something not quite right about part of the horn line, particularly at 0:19-0:22 and repeated 30sec later. Like maybe one of the notes isn't in the normal scale of the instrument, or maybe the articulation/dynamics aren't quite natural. Can't put my finger on it since I'm not a horn player, but that part has a bit of an "uncanny valley" aspect to it. Not sure I'm describing it that well...
New song, "Noctilucent", an instrumental electronic voxscape: https://soundcloud.com/bloodlessmushroom/noctilucent
@thelsdj Audio or it didn't happen. :D
I'm just now hearing about this, but apparently #rosewood and #bubinga are restricted/vulnerable species as of this year. Every guitar/bass I own has a rosewood fingerboard, and my favorite bass has a multi-wood body that includes bubinga. Must be weird times for the industry, but maybe we'll see some interesting materials innovation.
