Penny: Remember How They Loved You by Oonagh Charleton

Penny allowed herself to be gathered up carefully as the vet gently inserted the catheter into her front leg. The decline had been slow but steady since Christmas and blood tests had revealed multiple organ failure and an immune system that had given up the ghost. ‘It’s better to do it a month early than a day late,’ a friend had said with a love borne only from the experience of having been there and done that.

Writing a Synopsis: Really Useful Links by Lucy O’Callaghan

When submitting a story to a literary agent or publisher, a synopsis plays a crucial role in helping them quickly understand the full arc of your narrative. Unlike a blurb meant to entice readers, a synopsis is a clear and concise summary of the entire story - including all major plot points and spoilers. Its purpose is to show how the story unfolds from beginning to end, highlighting the main characters,…

How to Write a Novel in 15 Years by Eliana Ramage

To the Moon and Back: a novel by Eliana Ramage In 2009, I wanted to know how to write a novel. I was 18 years old, in my first year of college in New Hampshire, and I wrote about young Cherokee women. I was a young Cherokee woman myself. But my writing was often set a couple of hundred years ago, in a time I knew little about but worried might be “more authentic” than my own Cherokee life.

Saint Patrick by Grace O’Reilly

Saint Patrick was actually not an Irishman originally, although over time in his heart he was deeply Irish. He was born to Roman Citizens in the 4th Century and at birth he was named Maewyn Succat – not Patrick. As a young man, at16, he was kidnapped from Wales and brought to Ireland and used as a slave and a shepherd for many years.
