@funnymonkey Asking for a literal friend of a friend on BlueSky:
"Any concerns (e.g., privacy, student data, ethics, etc) about Studiosity as provider in higher education? Pointers?"
🙏🏼
@JulieB I suppose every church member has made a compromise in order to avoid worse compromises, you know? It's worth it to me, but it comes at a cost.
I just try to imagine how many imperfect teachings Jesus sat through for three decades, try to have some humility, and then study the passage on my own. 🤷🏻♀️ Often during those intra-sermon study sessions, God is very kind in granting insights that help me.
It took ten weeks of suffering through a series on the Sermon on the Mount, waiting to find out what was redemptive about it.
Week after week of legalistic preaching. "If you're a true Christian, you will X... so scrutinized yourself to see if you're a true Christian, let us pray."
For none of it was Jesus actually necessary. I just wilted in the seats.
Finally, in the last wrap-up sermon, I remembered Jeremiah 31:33-34, and I found the good news:
“Instead, this is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after those days”—the Lord’s declaration. “I will put my teaching within them and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people. No longer will one teach his neighbor or his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they will all know me, from the least to the greatest of them”—this is the Lord’s declaration. “For I will forgive their iniquity and never again remember their sin."
That's why Jesus is positioned parallel to Moses, on the mountain as the new and greater lawgiver. You can't make sense of it unless you already understand what the OT says about the new covenant. The new covenant isn't like the old one. It starts with forgiveness and with its law written *on hearts* by the Spirit.
That's what I needed to hear.
So I thought I'd share.
Trump isn’t staying in Milwaukee for the RNC — he’s going to stay in Chicago instead.
Why? Because Trump has a hotel in Chicago.
So when the Secret Service and his political entourage all need hotel rooms, Trump gets the money.
THE ENTIRE THING IS A GRIFT.
