I'm a #Landscape #Photographer with a focus on Western #Canada. My goal is to share the beauty of our planet, while keeping the integrity of the scene true, that means I avoid heavy editing, faking conditions, or using AI. I shoot #RealPhotosofRealPlaces

#PPOD: This stunning photograph of comet C/2024 G3 (ATLAS), taken by Yuri Beletsky on 19 January from ESO's Paranal Observatory in Chile, looks almost like a watercolour painting. Yeah, I actually get to use some of my art degree!

Documentary is not necessarily strictly factual presentation. The act of framing integral to print based and screen based media is it itself inherently subjective.

Framing tells you what the photographer thought was interesting or worth, including and this is true of every form of photography .

So to dodge your question, I don’t really draw a line. It depends on the claims the author makes.

Hey #Photographer 's, a little Monday Poll for fun.

By removing an object from a photograph (like a tree, garbage, building, or person), the image should no longer be considered a photograph, and just digital art now?

#poll #digitalArt

Absolutely. Photography should reflect reality.
34%
Only if it's temporary (like a wrapper, or leaf)
18%
Only if it's a small part of the image
12%
Only if it has no impact to the images idea

This is one of those images that really shows the scale of #Mountains - if you look closely, you'll see a group of four hikers ascending the skills to where I was standing. That's the scale of these mountains. They are HUGE.

To think that the day before we reversed the peak of that mountain 🤯

The #mushroomlovers may be able to ID these for me. I actually don't know what they're called.
