If it’s any consolation, a lot of us don’t feel like adults

I remember I was asked by multiple people when I turned 18 how I felt. What I felt was that that was a weird question lol. It’s not like one day passing made me suddenly feel somehow different from the day before.

What’s the point then? I pay for a game that I’m not even playing just so, what, my numbers of “completed” games goes up?

I’m someone who likes seeing the stats go up as I watch anime. But I do it naturally and over time. This AI idea is like if I were to start an anime, put it on auto-play while I sleep, and when I wake up it’ll be done, without me seeing a single scene.

Kinda same. One time in primary school when I got a book from the school’s library, I had to walk about 10 minutes to get to the bus station after classes, and I remember being disappointed that this meant I couldn’t continue the book for those 10 minutes. I also had a children’s encyclopedia back then with all sorts of topics from astronomy to history to technology, that I read several times.

Granted, I was never necessarily all in on reading. I would be split between that and gaming or TV as well. But compare that to today, after school managed to kill reading for me, and now I don’t really read, and just play games or watch anime instead.

Damn, I got here too late, I wanted to make this reference too!

Personally, as a European, I would be pro this happening if Canada wants to join and the EU is willing to let them join.

I get that geographically it wouldn’t make much sense, but culture is also important. Geographically, Belarus for example should join the EU instead of Canada, but I think most of us can agree that Belarus should not.

This is the second comment I see mentioning Upscrolled, and the first I see mentioning Cara. Up until like two minutes ago, I have not heard about either of those, and I think I don’t want to hear about them anyway. I haven’t been using TikTok or Instagram anyway, so I don’t really need a replacement for those apps.
Yeah, it’s just like with cookies. Sure, even without an Adblocker and all that, you could disable the cookies, but that means pressing several more buttons to disable all of the things. So, I feel like most people unfortunately just press accept and move on because it’s the quickest way to get to the information they were searching for.
Honestly, even if time travel were theoretically possible to be invented, there’s also a high chance that we’re just going to destroy ourselves before we get to that point anyway.
I feel like this will end up being a cycle. The AI companies are pushing for AI summaries, which then leads to younger Gen Z and the new Gen Alpha being familiar with and preferring AI summaries. This, in turn, leads to other companies implementing AI summaries because they see that’s what the new generations are using, which leads to the new generations being even more accustomed to those summaries, which leads to more companies implementing them, and it’s just an endless cycle.
Wow, they’re not even being subtle about it! Like, seriously, one week?
