I am currently considering installing #OpenWRT on my network gateway router. (It supports #IPv6 but does not give a UI for configuring incoming traffic rules, and blocks all incoming connections. I want to change this.)

I've previously installed OpenWRT before on a discardable device, and it's now happily acting as a WiFi AP and wired router for my office. So this isn't my first rodeo. I'm still worried about the risk, although it's actually fairly low. The device has emergency recovery, and can be reinstalled to the stock firmware with this method.

But what if I break it...

I got recommended two #Factorio songs from this artist on Youtube today, and they were very good.

Their Factorio playlist (the songs I was recommended are the two most recent):

It happens every year, but as an #Australian, I find it so annoying that so many apps and sites have a snow themed event across December.

I saw this bit of in-world media from Stray Cat Strut and through of this instance (Cathode Church)

  • In the beginning, the Code unleashed the heavens and the earth.

  • The earth was a void, an endless network, darkness flooding the deep matrix, while the Spirit of the Code hovered over electric currents.

  • Then the Code commanded, "Ignite the light," and the neon blazed."

Attended a #Melbourne Comedy Festival show emcee'd by @standupmaths . Interesting and thought provoking with humour as a lubricant.

Held inside a fractal room, as required by Matt's contract. Photo attached - the lighting was dynamic but it was very red at this moment.

Also included an ukelele, as every show I've seen Matt in has. I wonder if that's also required.

I gave in to the need to have working voice calls, and purchased a cheap Oppo A18 from Big W.

For a less than $200 device, this is surprisingly functional.

People be asking me why I'm enthusiastic about neolithic technologies instead of new developments.

Meanwhile Microsoft is unironically adding AI features to notepad.

Even Notepad is being tied to Copilot AI in Windows 11

Microsoft is testing out a number of new features within Windows 11: Copilot shortcuts (and within Notepad), the "sudo" command, support for hearing aids and more.

I really should get a UPS for my home office. Any suggestions on what I should look out for when shopping for one?
