#Wikipedia is 25 years young today! It's the only top-10 website that just provides information and is run on a non-profit basis. Unlike nearly every other website, it doesn't show adverts, nor does it track what you're reading.

If it's ever been useful to you, please give it a birthday present - edit an article, upload a #photos donate to keep the servers running, anything you can do to help the next person that accesses Wikipedia to learn a bit more!

For Wikipedia's 25th birthday, I'm sharing Wiki Arcade, a virtual directory of wiki-powered games made by amazing people.

There are too many games to highlight in one post, but some of my favorites:

🕵️ Wiki Mystery: A Wikipedia detective game where you figure out interesting causes of death (https://leviv.cool/wikigame/)

🎨 Gallery Wall: Drag and drop pictures from a collection of public domain art to decorate a gallery wall (https://alinaf.github.io/gallery-wall/)

🎣 Catfishing: Guess Wikipedia articles from their categories alone (https://catfishing.net/ @catfishing)

📅 WikiTrivia
Test your knowledge of historical events by placing them in correct order on a timeline (https://wikitrivia.tomjwatson.com/)

🚀 WikiAsteroids
My very own, a classic arcade shooter where asteroids spawn from live #Wikipedia edits (https://asteroids.wiki/)

🎉 Can you believe Wikipedia is 25 years old? 🎂

A quarter-century of free knowledge built on a simple idea: show your sources.

In a web where pages disappear, Wikipedia endures by documenting, citing, and inviting the world to improve what we know. And when sources vanish, the #WaybackMachine helps keep them alive—preserving evidence so knowledge stays verifiable and free. 🌍📚

Had a great time presenting about how OHM & #Wikimedia can be used together at @WikiConferenceNA. The focus of our talk was on how OHM data's tagging can include to add source information not just for geometry, but also for attributes, and that all of this is easily downloadable for reuse.

Check out the presentation here and let us know what we have missed or gotten wrong!
