I visited my grandparents’ today to scope out some furniture for the house. We left with no chairs, but I did find some neat old books, including this family Bible from 1840.

Dividing the New and Old Testaments were some contemporaneous family records keeping track of births, marriages, and deaths, as was the custom in those days. #genealogy #Books #Bookstodon #FamilyBibles

From Scientific American: We don't rely on randomized trials for seat belts or parachutes, so why are some people cherry-picking bad data from bad trials to discount the obvious and longstanding benefits of masks?

Authoritarian control of education is indoctrination, any way you cut the cake. Putting your own unqualified political take on where students and teachers may tread in the pursuit of knowledge is denying their right to obtaining such knowledge. But then again, an undereducated population is the perfect ally of people like Ron DeSantis who want to rule not serve.

Key driver of fascism.

I’m in the “I was in school when tuition was reasonable & federal loans available & repayable” generation. I am HORRIFIED at what students are now going through. reading of people who had $60K in loans, have been paying for more than a decade and STILL owe MORE than $62K!!! Loan forgiveness is needed NOW! #ForgiveStudentDebtNow
