So what is NFC, and why does WayAround use it? NFC stands for Near Field Communication, and it’s built into most smartphones. NFC has also been used for debit or credit cards, door keys, and more. WayAround uses NFC technology so that you know that you have scanned the exact tag. It works well with your WayCloud to backup and restore your personal data, and the tags come in many different shapes in sizes. WayAround has stickers, buttons, clips, and magnets. So that you can tag your everything.
Are you a braille reader who wants to type in braille while listening to the WayAround app on your smartphone? Well, WayAround has you covered! The WayAround mobile app supports braille keyboards, so that you can use speech for listening to your WayTags and braille for writing WayTag content.
“Braille has been an important part of my life since I was 3 years old. I started by learning the basic alphabet, and learned grade 2 contracted Braille. I would not be where I am in life without the use of Braille, and I continue to read Braille today.” - Michael Doise (@mikedoise)
Braille labels are effective and useful for keeping your Braille reading skills up. It's also a great way to identify items, but Braille labels take up space or fall off. This is where WayAround tags help. WayTags are smaller than Braille labels, and are less likely to fall off of items you are identifying. WayTags are not Braille labels, but you can use your Braille display to read tags, which allows for unlimited label sizes. Visit the WayAround shop to purchase tags. https://www.wayaround.com/shop/
