It's Blaze the Cat!
Many of you have enjoyed his photos for the past few years.
Last week swallowed a foreign object and we almost lost him. But we didn't.
The vet bills were substantial. I've made a GoFundMe to help.
Please only donate if you have the capacity.
(Boosts appreciated)

I had a really fucked up idea for a ROM-hack today - an "Enshittified" version of a classic game like Chrono Trigger. It could cut out one of the partner quests to "sell" as DLC. It could require an online connection. It could have "live service" elements to slowly introduce "new" items into the game over time, offer alternate "skins" MTX and of course the best items would be MTX as well.
PNW folks like @cabel might remember "The Mac Store" which was an Apple Reseller in the area that was part of a larger business called "Computer Stores NW" that also owned the web store "PowerMax" hosted at powermax.com but uh... what is going on there at that domain? Most of the links don't really do anything; they work, but are blank pages. The articles under "reviews" though seem to clearly be SEO spam. Is that the whole game? Maybe my ad-blocker prevents me from knowing.

The new Pokémon game says that Oddish’s scientific name is “Oddium wanderus”. Excuse me? Pokémon have SCIENTIFIC NAMES?!?

So Pikachu is like saying “rabbit” and has a more official scientific name like Oryctolagus?

I need to know every Pokémon’s scientific name now. This is a curse.

And here's the video on this if you want to see it in action!

computers were a mistake (and also I love them)
I would like to offer Google the incredible opportunity to sign with me the "Tim Epic deal" - for only $1 million USD, I will agree to not talk shit about Google in public OR PRIVATE for 6 years.

I pushed for a raise last year and while my leadership supported me and pushed for it, HR denied it. My boss insists that we’ll try again after 6 months from the last attempt, but if I’ve got an offer for more why would I not take it? The business would not hesitate to make a monetary decision to cut me if it meant more profit, so why should I?

Still, can’t help but be sad about how it would leave my team scrambling a little bit.

I’m in the middle of the interview process for a potential new job and I’ve got a small bit of guilt about the potential impact to my existing team. Initially I thought I’d consider pushing for a counter-offer to stay, but the new team seems chill and the new role seems fun. Plus, a potential 44% salary increase and less travel. Hard to pass that up. I have to reframe it in my mind, this isn’t me failing my team, it’s the organization failing my team by not paying me the market rate.
