@Edent because my home needs less than 10 kWh on the coldest days (northern Italy) but with heat, dhw and cooking included (no gas contract anymore), thus it seems to me that using that amount of energy every day of the year without heating (dhw and cooking on electricity or gas?) is a lot. And it's not that we're doing anything special with our appliances. It's not average to have the amount of solar panels you have, it's not necessary to retain average consumption either
@Edent I have no idea
@Edent you might want to look into where your energy goes to before committing to a giant battery though. 3.8 MWh/year without heating or car is a lot, you could definitely lower your needs first with a little investigation with a power meter
@diiccix @irenetherogue @implementcontrols was this meant for me? I don't believe I was being arrogant or rude, and I cannot see the thread since @irenetherogue blocked me because of this conversation
@irenetherogue @implementcontrols you still need more vaccines and drugs syringes and gloves and sterilization to improve more people's life, you still need food and water (365 days a year, thus more! or at least in more places -> transportation, refrigeration) to do it
@irenetherogue @implementcontrols not trying to be sarcastic, but it can, as you say, work for billions, if you just care a little less about suffering and death (of others). If you have a million city, how do you feed it? If you have millions of rural settlers like in the early colonization of the US, how do you give them proper medical care, or to ensure that they don't die in an event like the dust bowl?
@irenetherogue @implementcontrols 1) probably I am. But I cannot imagine modern life (as in without famine and preventable deseases) without at least fertilizants, food and medicine refrigeration and transportation 2) they were millions in an enormous country, and many of them suffered and died of the points in 1
@irenetherogue @implementcontrols I believe that it's kinda hard to feed, clothe and home 8 billion people without some kind of technology
@artem @Archaide @balkonsolar well that's REALLY inexpensive
@Archaide @artem @balkonsolar danke, und wo findet man einen für ~40€?
