Welcome! You are invited to join a webinar: Calculating emissions reductions of actions . After registering, you will receive a confirmation email about joining the webinar.

To know if you are on track to meet your climate targets, it’s important to understand the effects of your planned actions. But to calculate the potential emissions reductions of your plan can also unlock local potential. It can help your team identify the next steps, increase your management’s understanding of your work, enable funding applications and at best further consensus among your citizens. It seems like a no-brainer and yet it can be hard to know where to start. In this webinar we look at an international standard, uncover the basic steps behind calculations on emissions reductions, and listen in with city experts to hear how conducting such impact calculations has helped them advance their climate work. Speakers include: Björn Sigurdson, senior consultant at WWF Cities along with city guests from Can Tho City in Vietnam. Date: Wednesday April 19 Time: 9 am CET (GMT +1) Convenient for Europe, Africa and Asia Teaser: In our survey we learned from our participants that this is the most popular topic!

HUGE news: Nations agree on a #HighSeasTreaty!

This creates a framework to protect this vital part of our oceans; conserving marine life & restricting practices in these waters which harm our blue planet.

WWF welcomes this move for healthy oceans 🌏 #BBNJ

Today is #WorldWithoutNature day.

WWF is asking people to imagine a world without nature. We depend on it for everything: food, water & our oxygen. 🌎

Today, WWF and partner brands are removing nature from their logos to highlight a #WorldWithoutNature.

We must stop nature loss: Share to spread the word! #WorldWildlifeDay

Welcome! You are invited to join a webinar: Setting targets based in science . After registering, you will receive a confirmation email about joining the webinar.

Climate change is a global threat, and it puts our society’s ability to cooperate to the test. But what is an adequate response for an individual city? To start, ensuring that the target you set for your work is based on science can help you align with Earth’s limits and societal sustainability goals, as outlined in the Paris Agreement. That, in turn, can serve to back up your work through external guidance and validation. In this webinar, we point you to the different methods recognized by the Science-Based Target Network (SBTN), while zooming in a bit more on one of them: the method supplied by WWF’s One Planet City Challenge. We will hear from experts, including a city guest that has already aligned their targets and hear how they did it, and how that has helped to advance their climate work. Date: Wednesday March 15 Time: 9 am CET (GMT +1) Convenient for Europe, Africa and Asia Speakers include: Tabare Curras technical lead at WWF Cities, Dr Arminel Lovell Cities manager for SBTs at CDP, and a city guest Teaser: In our survey we learned that 60% of OPCC participants wish to set science-based targets, while reporting shows that a quarter already have some degree of alignment with SBTs.
