@N4JAW @AF0AJ 🤣🤣🤣 Been there and done that. Mine lives at the bottom of my go box.
@N4JAW Your morning selfies always make me smile.

@KF0UNK I was exposed to LCWO in the CWOPS fundamentals course last January. Powerful tool. The student resources are available to all at https://cwops.org/cw-academy/cw-academy-student-resources/

I’d suggest the LCWO homework parts of the fundamentals course. It dramatically helped me learn to copy characters in quick succession and address problem characters. The homework does a great job of building your capabilities. Note that you really need to be scoring about 70% to be building your skills.

@N4JAW @AF0AJ Lots of QRN on my end too. Bands were pretty much trash. Early shift is the way to go this time of year.
@N4JAW I’ll definitely try to hunt you. I was planning to hit the shack when I get up. Usually around 0500.
@N4JAW Heat index was 104F today. For NEPA that is expletive hot. I’m not even in an asphalt jungle.
@KF0UNK Based on your previous posts, I’d say you’re ready to start hunting right now. You can do this. Just remember, it’s fun!!
@KF0UNK Just do it. Hunting parks is a great way to build confidence because it is a well defined format and the responsibility of copying the call is on the activator. Plus nobody is bothered by new CW OPs. We are glad to see the CW aspect grow and remember our own key fright. We’ll gladly slow down for you. I would write down what I wanted to send to help me with the brain lock while sending. “Don’t get good to get on the air. Get on the air to get good.”
@KF0UNK My 2 cents from someone who learned recently is start fast striving for ICR. I followed what it sounds like you’re doing and regretted it. It was hard to unlearn the counting of dots and dahs. What really worked for me was single letter and number head copy at 35-40 WPM. I used Morse code ninja, but there are lots of ways to do that. Just one OMs “opinion.”
@N4JAW Good thing about being in the sticks is a low noise floor. The flip side is that cell and internet services really suck.
