Another session, another recommendation for The Rift Breaker

it's such a good and comfy game, it's the first factory-expanding game that actually engages me, and turns out the secret sauce for that was to add MECHA COMBAT

the base building and tower defense mechanics strongly resemble RTS games like Beyond All Reason, so it's very familiar to me, pleasing my monkey brain
(factorio feels too much like work, the complexity overwhelms my brain from leisure mode into problem solving mode)

anyway Rift Breaker is on sale right now for like $10 and it has coop modes
and now I rewatched Rogue One
absolute cinema
the cycle is complete, I return to where I started a month ago
I bought Resident Evil 2 Remake earlier today, and played about an hour of it
it's super good. controls very well, being how it wants to make you feel in control but clunky and afraid at the same time.
My biggest fear isn't the zombies, it's INVENTORY MANAGEMENT... having only 8 item slots is rough, and every puzzle item I pick up is another stack of ammo I can't carry.

Also, given how many puzzles and locations I need to remember, I'll have to play this kinda liek a Metroidvania, backtracking across the RPD map.

Now downloading UT2k4 mods. Since I found a group to play with, I'll now actually make use of them!

Chile’s courts have permanently rejected a massive iron and copper mining project near the Humboldt Penguin National Reserve, safeguarding one of the most biodiverse marine ecosystems in the Pacific. Chile hosts around 80% of the world’s Humboldt penguins; the ruling protects breeding islands and waters home to more than 560 marine species. Chile confirms rejection of Dominga mining project: environmental victory in defense of the Humboldt penguin

The Court of Appeals of the northern region of Chile confirmed the rejection of the Dominga mining project, promoted by the multinational Andes Iron. The initiative aimed to open two iron and copper mines, with an estimated investment of 2.5 billion dollars, in addition to building a port in La Higuera, Coquimbo region, in the

speaking of Steam sales, I've bought Rift Breaker about a week ago in the other sale that they had, and finally had time to start playing it today

it is really good, very fun mix of top-down action, RTS/Factory basebuilding (honestly feels more like BAR than Factorio to me) and tower defence with a mecha. I love it.

and it also got me thinking that there's a ton of indie and AA games like this, low budget top-down genre mixups, and I really enjoy them. I should play more of them, I might reinstall Red Solstice 2 again.
I've been using this spare gamer style mechanical keyboard in place of mine while waiting for it to work again

and the spacebar on this thing is extremely inconsistent, plus the keys spacing feels alien af
okay the Steam sale started
my options are RE2 remake and the British DLC for Gates of Hell

but I thinhk I'll go with RE2; it comes bundled with theRE3 remakefor cheaper than the Brits, and I've been wanting to play those for a couple weeks now, ya'll should have noticed
