Jim AcostaJust signed up for Mastodon. Hope it doesn’t become a dumpster fire like twitter. This feels like that movie where the humans have to go find another planet suitable for life after messing things up on earth.

Putting a snowball together for Christmas. A family tradition from when my grandparents were stationed in Egypt. Small presents bought, put in cardboard box, surrounded by cotton wool. Presents on a named string and everyone pulls string at same time.

I joined Mastodon this evening at the suggestion of my good friend @davidallengreen
David was very supportive when I joined Tw*tt*r more than a decade ago and he generously told his 250,000 followers that I was now on Mastodon.
Ever since then, my phone has not stopped buzzing. Within an hour, I had picked up 800 followers. And I haven't posted anything — yet. There's clearly a huge demand for this platform.
I'll write a proper introduction tomorrow.

I'm currently doing an MA in Fine Art. I'm interested in metamodernism, film/tv and screen studies generally.
I'm a science groupie. I'm very comfortable in reality and don't understand why you'd want anything else, really, cos it blows my mind all the time.
