By the way, I use GNOME OS. Before it is cool.

@pojntfx @alatiera Got new hardware. gemma4:31b seems a bit more capable. Will see how it goes.
@alatiera I do not really judge its output. More its process. Sometimes it gets stuck. But I suppose if you let it do whatever it wants, it works pretty well. Ok, you want GTK3, go for it. It is just if you are a bit too picky, it is going to be a fight.
@levitating I run ollama. I went through the open ai protocol and I wrote my own small agent in GTK. I dispatch tool function to a worker through varlink that runs in confinement (so far I can run it through systemd or flatpak). I am thinking maybe the selection of tool functions I give is not the best selection. I have to compare a bit with what other things use. But it does manage to do some coding with what I provided. But so far this does not seem to be the limitation.
I am probably doing it wrong. It is a lot of fun. But I have yet to find it useful. But I am getting a beefier GPU. Maybe that will help with better models.
I have been playing with qwen3.5:9b (until I get a better GPU). First, you cannot really do GTK 4 with it. There is usually a point where it gives up and converts everything to GTK 3. Sometimes it gets mad I did not give it write access to `.git`. And I am glad it did not have it. And programming languages that expects network access do not work that well if you do not give it access. You need to remember to vendor dependencies, and tell qwen to use it.
@KekunPlazas @zbrown but that means flatpak cannot make merch.

Programming Still Sucks. β€” Writing

Sorry Peter. β€” I'm at a birthday party, and while most people here also work in tech, there's always a Guy with a Real Job. You know, a physical job, building some or other thing people need. And this Guy always asks some variant of the same question: aren't you worried AI is taking your job? I glance around and see a few faces turning around toward us, rolling their eyes ever so slightly before returning to their previous conversation. Yes, this question again.

@philn it says "Free housing, free food, guaranteed girlfriend/boyfriend after 1 year"
