Mostly gonna be macro, but various kinds of (usually gentle) bigs abound; also I guess questions about specific words for things?
Question for the programmers I know: Let's say you're writing a utility for quickly attaching a lot of strings together into one bigger string. And let's further say you need to figure out how to handle the case that one of those strings might be uninitialized. What sort of options might you consider to deal with the scenario?
Java's StringBuilder.append(String str) has a very interesting solution I definitely would not have come up with on my own: https://docs.oracle.com/javase/1.5.0/docs/api/java/lang/StringBuilder.html#append(java.lang.String)
StringBuilder (Java 2 Platform SE 5.0)

I knew it was time. #comics
Weird question but, does anyone else or has anyone else seen someone eat a bag of potato chips (the flat things, not the long sticks) by opening the top like normal, then splitting along the seam and opening the bottom as well, so you can fold out the entire bag into a small foil-plate with all the chips exposed at once? This has the advantage of not requiring you to dig around in the bottom darkness to find chips, but it has been pointed out to me that it is a pain to re-seal (easily circumvented by just eating all the chips).
Diagram attached because why not.
A friend of mine just pointed out that Sunny would interpret "single digit foot heights" as "the size of a toe" because the idea of someone being less than ten feet tall would baffle her, and... kinda yeah?
HEY did you know that this blue bar here in Discord is actually two buttons? If you click on the right side, where it says "Mark as Read," it marks unread messages as read. If you click on the _left_ side, it scrolls to the first unread message. Instead of you having to manually scroll up to that. Which I have been doing for years. asdfasfgs anyway it's a nice feature to know about
" (...) space is not really big, it is simply somewhere to be big in. Planets are big, but planets are meant to be big and there is nothing clever about being the right size."
-Terry Pratchett, The Light Fantastic, in a context which is very much not intended to be the context which most of my followers will interpret it but hey it's fun to consider.
As a general heads up to everyone , there's another round going around of scammers targeting furs and gamers by hacking discords of people, then messaging people on that friend list to ask if they want to 'playtest a game that the person made'
It is not actually a game, it is a hack to steal your Discord info, double-check that they are your friend before responding.
Heard of at least three cases today, so, keep an eye out.

Dropbox is changing its link format for security reasons, your old links may no longer work and you might have to generate new ones.

Only found this out because a friend mentioned the commission folder refs I've used for years were going to an error message.

If you run into this issue with your/someone else's ref folder, that's probably what's going on and you'll need them to generate you a new link.

Those moving skeletons between Blender and Unreal (or other DCCs & game engines) will be happy about this visualization option for Relationship Lines. Thx @sybren for the help with this.
This time I bring you a free new word, though it's one that already has a compound-word phrase for the concept: Timefoolery. It's like tomfoolery but when someone's doing the nonsense by time travel. Akin to timey-wimey faffery, but while timey-wimey is more about the incomprehensible nature of non-linear time, timefoolery is more about someone making use of non-linear time to accomplish incomprehensible/reprehensible/nonsensical plot faffery.
