Grew up on a dairy farm in Wisconsin. Wish I was back so I make the most of it on my 1/4 acre lot. Very self sufficient. I also enjoy preserving food, Brewing, Winemaking, Kumbutcha and lacto fermenting veggies.
@TheGreatLlama@PermaSolarPotter I learned that the hard way. I'm a home brewer and I thought "Hey! I can use my spent grain as a substrate!" Wrong! The molds were very happy I did that.
@PermaSolarPotter I have blue oysters in one bucket on straw and coffee grounds. My second bucket is Pink oysters on recycled cardboard. They started fruiting the other day. Maybe be ready to pick on Sat!
@yrabbit Yikes!! I'm in the same boat but with peppers. I'm in zone 4b and I have till mid may. Mine aren't flowering yet but they're nearly as big as you'd buy at the nursery.
#GardenIng Zone 4, Wisconsin. It's cold, itching for spring but I have to be patient. Beds need rest too. Put low tunnels on two of my beds last year to extend my season.
