@projectionedge I don't know if this will help but I truly feel like the most meaningful thing you can do for a non-homeable stray is give them a compassionate end. That's so important and it's very telling that he came to you when he knew it was his time.
I know it sucks and it will always suck but caring for strays is SO HARD ALL OF THE TIME and you did the most meaningful thing you could possibly do for that boy. For him it was all the difference in the world. Thinking of you. <3
