I'll probably never like someone's pet pictures. Also, Ai-generated art is interesting, but I prefer actual pictures of real things.
Fashion, Bad Artist, or Short?
(2 images)
Do they look like they are shorter than average?

It could be at least 3 things:
- Their too-long suit coats were the fashion at the time
- The artist who penciled over the enlargement was terrible at body proportions
- They were possibly short

Pair of photos purchased together from Indianapolis, IN (USA)
Since the sons (assumed) are in color, that was probably done at a later date.
Apologies if I have offended any shorter people.

The Square-Headed Woman from 1885-90 ish?
A gentle, soothing sponge bath and a bit of wood polish today for this lovely lady.
16x20 portrait from Sturtevant WI.
It's compo (plaster). I can tell because it has cracked and chipped off in the corner joints from being handled too many times.
It was varnished at some point so that has kept most of it intact.
Another picture of a picture.
I cannot figure out what might be the white thing on the front of this young man's suit.
Does it signify anything in particular?
A fraternal organization?

Purchased from a donation/thrift store in Maryland (Near D.C.)
16x20 crayon portrait in a stacked wooden frame
(c. 1895-1905 ish?)
Do the pictures on your walls have stories?
Write them on the backside.
One day in 100+ years, those pictures may end up at a thrift store.

I wish I knew the story of this crayon portrait purchased from Goodwill in Appleton, WI.
I have questions about those sad faces.
That must be intentional.
16x20 crayon portrait (c. 1900-1910 ish?)
Gem Theatre — Cairo, Illinois
Still a bit rough, but very impressive.
The new Generative Fill that was added to Adobe Photoshop Beta today.
