@kviksilver People are variously recommending Lemmy and Kbin as federated alternatives, though both are struggling under heavy load as Reddfugees start landing in numbers.

I've been on Lemmy for a week or so, it's got the sense of community that Reddit lost some years ago; do try it out.

Well, having belatedly joined Mastodon, now's as good a time as any to mention: I'll be speaking at the #wearedevelopers World Congress in Berlin next month, about the history of HTTP and coffee brewing over the internet.

@mkbomb1 @viticci @christianselig @Mastodon I think we're already too far down the road, with Huffman's recent behaviour towards Christian Selig and other third-party devs; there's no rowing back from that.

There are positives though: the exodus to #fediverse services is good for the long-term health of the Internet, and I'm just one of thousands trying it out over the last week.
