Actually, from a dictionary of 1538 (almost contemporary with the earliest record of this carol):
"Aye, bee thou gladde: or joyful, as the vulgare people saie Reste you mery." (Sir Thomas Elyot's Dictionary)
So the comma goes *after* what the vulgare people saie. And I hope we're all good and vulgare here.
Here’s a little look at my painting process, from the first lines to finished piece.
I like to incorporate the techniques and look of traditional painting with the luxury and flexibility of digital tools. I start with a brown underpainting, build up with big blocks of colour, and try to keep as much brushwork on the canvas as possible.
Let me know if you’d like to see more painting tips, tricks and tutorials.

For Twitter folks who are brand new to Mastodon
Few pointers from a veteran of <checks notes> 2 weeks:
1️⃣ BOOST generously: If you see a Toot you like & want others to see it, boost (RT) it. Unlike Twitter, liking it does nothing for visibility
2️⃣ HASHTAGS are important, use liberally. They're the only way to make content discoverable by search
3️⃣ Use alt-text for images/gifs for accessibility
4️⃣ Err towards content warnings - not just for obv triggering content; helps keep feeds uncluttered
