What compels me to completely rearrange my home office on a Thursday night instead of waiting for the weekend? This is madness.
Our dog got to check an item off her bucket list tonight. Due to poor communication between the humans, she was fed dinner twice, and ate them both. This was a triumph 8 years in the making. Good job, Lily.
My bird bath was frozen over this morning but I'm sad to report there were no cute little birds ice skating on it.
Finished it up with Murders in the Rue Morgue (1932). Very moody and stylish with cool expressionistic sets. Bela Lugosi is creepy, and it has the dad from Meet Me in St. Louis.
My analog Letterboxd list of all the horror films I watched this October. Room for one more?
The Duke Screen/Society is showing some classic horror films this weekend, including a 35mm presentation of Pieces (1982) at 9pm on Saturday night. This is a truly bonkers slasher film, worth a watch if you're into that sort of thing.
Oh, and they're showing Exorcist and Evil Dead as well.

Just watched a 1984 episode of Tales From the Darkside, with a pre-Star Trek Brent Spiner and a pre-everything Christian Slater.
If you want to watch horror movies this October and subscribe to the Criterion Channel, I can't recommend enough the Pre-Code Horror collection. Some absolute classics in there. If I had to recommend one, it would be The Old Dark House.

Unbound by any concessions to family-friendly morality and influenced b...
The Criterion ChannelHaving said that, I of course watched a Friday the 13th movie today - Part 4 (The Final Chapter), which isn't my favorite, but does feature a guy getting killed by Jason while yelling "He's killing me!"
