Digital newspaperman by day, just maturing into a love of the Grateful Dead and exploratory joyful music by night.
Just an on-fire set from start to finish and even more impressive given that the band bus broke down and they had to leave a bunch of stuff behind just to get here (the bass and most of the sound equipment was borrowed from bands already there). Here’s a bit from “Mad World”
On Saturday at #borderlandfestival, the Wood Brothers set was great at sunset, but the highlight of the day was Sierra Hull
Also great Friday at #borderlandfestival : Eggy. Would have liked to see them on the main stage, but giving them the closing slot on the small stage with no overlap at the main really packed the crowd in. The closing run of “What I know > Must Come Down, Twelve Pounds of Pain was a highlight. Didn’t take any pics or vids, though.
The Black Crowes were fun as hell, too. The set was heavy on the hits from the first two albums, with a few from the new album sprinkled in. Nothing unexpected, but the Robinsons still got it
This “Dance in the Desert” from Daniel Donato was friggin awesome. Definitely the highlight of the day for me. #borderlandfestival

Didn’t take many pics/videos at #borderlandfestival yesterday, but here are a few:

The Sheepdogs were great. Loud, shit-kicking tunes. Liking it as much as I did was probably the surprise of yesterday. I liked them a lot when they first hit in the U.S. in 2011, but hadn’t listened to them in forever.

Flaming Lips at Artpark in Lewiston, NY. Phone mostly stayed in my pocket, so I didn’t get the Kacey Musgraves took LSD story, but nostalgia made me get this one
Glad Spafford took this tour break so Gantzer could entertain us with his Steely Dan cover band tonight
Rain or not, the Buffalo AKG is a helluva place to watch a show
