Also I'm open to other instance suggestions. I'd prefer someplace that is well federated (though no nazi chuds please), doesn't mind geekiness and relentless furry silliness, etc.

Been playing around with the nix package manager. I'd been meaning to for a while, then got reminded about it. Seems pretty spiffy so far. Someone even made a package to make everything play nicely with fish.
