I saw the 2 minute version of that trailer and it does seem like they're trying to do a world tour like Street Fighter or something. Which isn't the worst idea, but that's just gonna bloat the game like hell. Especially if every new character works like the masters in SF6.

I guess it's fine in practice, but it feels llike the meta developement is different vs something that just gets one release. Like TTT is still growing and evolving 20 years later (wow that's crazy it's been over 20 years since TTT came out)

T8 has a growing and developing meta too, but it;s notably different from a game without patches. It doesn't have the same bedrock imo.

Also I've said this before elsewhere, but looking from afar it seems like tekken players are constantly praying that the next patch is a good one.

Of course I say this with all respect to Tekken 8 and its players. I have to stop myself from getting too boomer and doing "new game bad" discourse.

I was watching VF4 videos today and it reminded me how knowledge check heavy 3D fighters can be. So to take that and then add regular patches on top of that feels like a hell I wouldn't wish on my worse not-a-war-criminal enemies

Somewhat related to the hypebot, I'm halfway done translating the names into Japanese. I was half thinking of keeping the names in English with quotation marks, but the Japanese bot is for the Japanese speakers. if you wanna know why the sickos are getting hype over 「カプエス２」then you better go get a free Mango Languages account from your library.

alot of people talk about "Dead" games pejoratively, but I'm thinking of musing on how "Living"games are their own kind of beast. Too bad I'm back in school and I still have the hypebot project I need to wrap up.
