i’ll stop being “a traitor” (??? seriously, infosec influencers??) when mastodon allows me to upload photos & videos properly & allows me to see the content i want rather than be forced to wade through unrelated garbage. why would i move over here just for a lackluster experience, holier-than-thou attitudes about other social media sites, & the inability to even promote my stuff anywhere near the level i’m able to on twitter??
realizing as i wake up this morning that i have been spoiled by the incredibly supportive twitter neteng/tech community & tiktok remains a raging dumpster fire of misogynists who truly deeply believe that women only want to work in fields where they’re NuRtUrInG sOmEtHiNg 🙄

if tiktok has taught me anything this month it’s that putting effort into an ELI5 type video on a technical concept will always, rain or shine, bring out the whining that i didn’t go into enough detail 🙄
something happened 2 me after playing Hypnospace Outlaw. the ppl who made that game straight up reinvented the internet, music, & US culture post-1999. they accurately wrote tons of different characters & voices in an online-only space. it made me feel small & easily replicable.
anyway all i mean to say is we’re all, individually & collectively, a big predictable joke. so i’ll just keep using my voice the best way i know how, regardless of who thinks i need to “calm down” or shut up or whatever
