@overcastfm after the iOS 18 update it looked like the sorting got fixed… but no. After refreshing, the new downloads did not respect the playlist settings.
@overcastfm after the episode limit enforcement got fixed overcast deleted over 10GB of podcasts 🙈 hope playlist sorting get fixed next.
@overcastfm and overcast keeps downloading unplayed, not deleted episodes. Well, it keeps downloading played and deleted ones as well. The whole episode management is kind of messy and buggy since the update.
@overcastfm the episode limit does not work. This results in me spending about an hour very week to delete old episodes (that I have not listened to).
@overcastfm before investing time into new features could you please fix auto- deletion, priority sorting and that the app stops downloading deleted episodes. Overcast is more work, than fun. Or at least implement the export…
What are the go to podcast apps on iOS at the moment? Since the rewrite @overcastfm is a daily source of pain for me.
Features:
- Auto sorting playlists
- Auto delete old episodes
— max episodes downloaded
— delete after x time after playing
- adaptable play speed (per podcast would be nice) #podcast
#overcast
@marcoarment short update. After listing to the episode and deleting the others manually… upon the next load the playlist sorter correctly.
@marcoarment the whole managing of episodes seems to be a bit buggy. “Was jetzt” is set to be limited to two episodes and delete after 24 hours. Within the playlist settings, it is in 3rd place of the high-priority feeds. But right now, the playlists lists 3 episodes on top (at the correct position) and a 4th on position 14. Of the 3 one has been played more than 24h ago. And the newst episode, the 4th one, is after podcasts that are not even in the high-priority list.
@marcoarment besides the UX setback, the new version is showing hundreds of episodes (overall) that I never came around to list to, but which got deleted due to the X episode setting.
