More work done on this floating lady. Made the background rainbow this time. I'm pretty happy with it so far! Still trying to figure out my style, but I'm enjoying the ride :D
This is Laura, the main character of my fiction thingy. She's Clariece's girlfriend and she gets caught up in stuff waaay over her head.
Migration of the Giants. From a world where one day is 1000 years, these giants stay on the dark side, constantly moving in order to stay there.
I had to fiddle with the contrst and stuff because it was too dark so maybe that has messed up some of the colors or something
I'm really happy with all the scenery painting I've done over the past year! It's really fun and relaxing to do, and it definitely helps encourage me to do more art in general.
So I started writing a fiction thing to give me a creative writing outlet since the writing I do at my job is pretty mind-numbing. I haven't gotten too far yet, but here is concept art of one of my main characters, Clariece! She's a bit out there, lesbian and maaaaybe has a mysterious past.
As far as the actual art goes, I tried out a different style. I actually really like how it turned out!
From an (especially enlightened) white leftist perspective, the ban on the veil is a symbolic attack on people's ability to practice their faith without shame or government intervention, and an excuse for cops to brutalise Arabic women.
For the women who have to experience it, it is a forced, violent alteration of their very ability to be in a body, which is to say to be anyone at all.
