@dysfun this was just an example; I've seen an alarming rise in preventable diseases easily avoided by vaccination and understand all too well. The overall point was to examine the motive of the author before deciding for yourself.

@dysfun Context. "Direct threat" is language meant to evoke a heightened emotional response, so we should consider further.
If the action in question poses a threat to one's ability to, say, beat their child in the name of "discipline," the threat to authority can be seen as positive.
If the action poses a threat to one's ability to raise their child making the most prudent and ethical medical decisions between them, their child and their doctor, this is a legitimate threat, and is not good.
