His channel is in the screenshot. As I said in the comment you’re replying to, he has explored other TTRPGs on that channel, you can check it yourself. Personally I think he has a lot of great general GM advice and does a service by making this hobby seem fun and accessible.
Just because someone’s favorite TTRPG is d&d and they make content about it, does not mean they are wronging the broader TTRPG community. If your favorite system doesn’t get enough attention in your opinion, take the initiative to show others why it’s great rather than demanding someone else do it for you. No one is obligated to pander to you specifically.
Personally, I have a huge collection of RPGs and I enjoy a lot of indie titles more than the big names and I like to talk about them when the opportunity arises. Never had to bash anyone else or their favorite game to do it.
“How about no police”
Literally no one of any consequence is saying to do this, and this is in fact a right wing strawman regularly used to justify increased militarization of police and to smear anyone left of center calling for police reform. You should check your sources for bias, because you’re being manipulated to believe something about a nation you do not understand the judicial nuances of to make you engage with ragebait content
What people are calling for is to disarm all police except special response units (like civilized nations), abolish qualified immunity, require malpractice insurance and personal financial penalties for police, codify laws that force harsh punishments on police who knowingly violate the law and basic rights, disband police “unions”, standardize and increase training and licensure requirement across the nation, and move tax dollars away from turning the police into special forces operators and instead put it into community resources that prevent crime in the first place. No one needs to rob the gas station at gunpoint for a few hundred dollars and then get mag-dumped by a feral pig if they’re getting UBI and universal healthcare, make sense?
Oh, and before you tell me I don’t understand police or the criminal justice system and all of its flaws in my own nation because I’m a “dumb yank” or whatever, I was in the CJ field for over a decade. I am very aware of how fucked up it all is and what the solutions are.
Again, no one other than right wing grifters are saying “eliminate all law enforcement”. People understand the solutions a lot better than you think, but getting rid of over 200 years of entrenched racism and corruption when the powers that be actively love the racism and corruption isn’t an afternoon of work.
That’s the neat part about Wabbajack! You just follow the pre-setup guide for the list you’re interested in to the T, make sure you log into Nexus through Wabbajack, and then click the start button. Wabbajack will handle everything else (downloading and extracting mods and pre-configured config files into the selected directory, unpacking BSAs, etc). There may be a few post install steps (TTW always has to be manually installed for example, but is quite simple) depending on the list and maybe some documentation on optional mods.
If you decide to try this out, I’d recommend subscribing to the cheapest Nexus premium option you can just to get you through the install, otherwise you have to manually approve and slow-download everything.
I have no dog in this fight, but you’ve literally been arguing for three hours that you definitely didn’t mean to get upset at nazis being called out, after clearly getting upset about nazis being called out.
Maybe you should put the phone down and do some self reflection rather than parroting right wing talking points and having a meltdown over something that should be easy to agree with (fuck nazis).
The fact that you sling leftist around like an insult despite it being the most common political identifier in the world makes me think you’ll likely just spew angry word vomit at me to make yourself feel justified that I’m an evil socialist, despite not knowing anything about me 🤷
Not disagreeing with you there. I have a myriad of reasons why I am no longer in that field, and that period of my life was a huge contributor in radicalizing me to the left, by US standards. You see and do a lot of fucked up shit and work with a lot of people who should be getting serious psychological treatment rather than carrying a gun and a badge, controlling a court room, determining who qualifies for social aid, or how someone in a cell should be rehabilitated. You get put in situations where you have to decide between doing right and putting a massive target on your back from the system.
That all being the case, there are still a lot of ignorant or just straight up shitty people who get reinforced by these programs to continue the cycle.
I think you’re misunderstanding the point I was making. I’m not advocating the gatekeeping of higher education, I believe that the taxes I pay should enable anyone to go to college or a vocational program if they choose.
My point is that these colleges that cater specifically to law enforcement programs aren’t even remotely equivalent when compared to normal community colleges, let alone a university. They do the bare minimum to meet the legal requirements, teach the bare minimum required by the state law enforcement licensing board and instead substitute rhetoric and pseudoscience that reinforces mindsets in graduates that the streets are a warzone, minorities are cartel members, and that authority is more important than empathy.
Functionally, many of these specific programs don’t give any real education or experience above a GED where it matters, yet they parade that they do. They often call them “Law Enforcement” degrees, not criminal justice degrees, as they are not equivalent and can’t legally call them the same thing. But, they do conveniently tick the box of requiring a degree and do weed out anyone too who might question system too much or show too much empathy.
