The same way I used to approach trolls back on certain web fora:

Use language they understand to introduce concepts that, as they agree to them, combine to subvert what they think they know.

Very gently build up a base of concepts that, eventually, leads them to realize they've been dreadfully mistaken this whole time.

Trick them into enlightenment.

@tinker It's a long, hard process that leaves me utterly exhausted, and it doesn't always work - there are some people who are not salvageable, and I can only be so much of a prosthetic brain.

But if I grind away enough, I can make a little bit of a difference, and hopefully that gets passed on.
