BREAKING: A state judge in Missouri just issued a temporary restraining order halting enforcement of Attorney General Andrew Bailey's “emergency” rule severely restricting gender-affirming care. The anti-trans rule is now blocked under the TRO for the next two weeks, through May 15. A hearing on the preliminary injunction request, which would block the rule during the litigation with no end date, is set for May 11. The judge could extend the TRO if a ruling on the PI can’t be reached by May 15. (While similar in effect, the main practical differences between TROs and PIs is that TROs are of limited duration and cannot generally be appealed whereas PIs are not of limited duration and can be appealed.)
