@charlotteclymer I’m speculating, and I feel bad about that; but I feel like I can safely assume that the 39 Republicans have family who are LGBTQ. The issue had to affect them personally before they could have empathy.
This toot is “part of the problem”, but I’m just feeling EXHAUSTED with the lack of empathy among Republicans.

Black voter and newish Georgia resident, here. Warnock won and I STILL could not sleep tonight. TOO much was revealed about the Republican Party with this. I have been profoundly unsettled for months.
But yes, I am relieved to LITERAL TEARS that Warnock won. I wasn't sure how I could continue to live in this state.

We can not sugarcoat what we just witnessed. The Republican Party told their voters to vote for a heinously unqualified candidate. The Republican Party told them to pledge fealty by rejecting the evidence of their eyes and ears. The Republican Party said our people are SHEEP... and over 1.5 million voters said “BAAA”. 
While I am RELIEVED that Warnock won, I am HORRIFIED that it was close. This was #orwell1984
