More and more I am confused why they felt the need to remove the old splitting/three dots at the top/slideover multitasking on iPad when you have the new version enabled. I really like the new stuff, but I’m finding myself wanting to use the old version for simple things because it was so fast a lot. Not sure why we can’t have both.
@_Davidsmith The thing I want now (and don’t know how feasible it is) is for widgets to be able to have some small amount of color in the completely clear mode. I’d like the play symbol and text on the Timery widget, or the actual day on a caledat widget could be something other than white I think it would look better.
@stroughtonsmith ABSOLUTELY, I really really miss the ability to bring in an app quickly over a full screen app I want to keep fullscreen. It felt like an extension of Control Center and I used it constantly, the new windowing just doesn’t provide the same functionality.
Steve Troughton-SmithThe more I use iPadOS 26, the more I wish the window traffic lights were just visible all the time in their maximized state. Make it so that I have to design my app around them, sure, but just stop hiding them. They're fine, they make it easier to use, and having to tap them twice every time gets annoying fast
@marcoarment also why have they decided to blur the TOP of the Safari window when you scroll down now. Completely baffling decision.
@stroughtonsmith The number of windows I’ve been able to open on my 2022 iPad mini has honestly impressed me. It has run almost completely fine has me wondering why Stage Manager was so limited.
@marcoarment I think it looks worse with so few buttons now. It looks like a kids browser where most of the functionality is taken away, it looks immature. I don’t mind the design in a number of other place but Safari is just egregious.
