That said, this is apple recycling unsold inventory from 2024 ( A19 chips they couldn't sell ) and I doubt these machines will be more performant than a netbook.

@Julima42 Linux has historically only been used by engineers and the privacy-minded. It was normally too niche to target with worms or other malware, but these days there are more.... "normal" users who seem to be attempting to install it. Additionally server infrastructure runs entirely on linux.
