@kityates With regard to the birthday problem, then my family seems to be an outlier. Taking my immediate family of my partner, and I ,our five children and their partners and their children, a total number of 21, we have 3 shared birthdays.

If you add in the partner's parents (the in-laws), that brings the sample size to 31 and the number of shared birthdays to 5.

Not a random sample, of course, but also no obvious reason I can see for such a large number of shares.

@Mastodon OK so there has been a policy decision to, stop live feeds which is a bit of a shame.

I'm not sure how one can now end up coming across new people/feeds that may be of interest. One's home feed could become just an echo chamber.

@Mastodon
No local/federated ilve feed anymore. What is going on?

"This feed has been disabled by your server administrators."

The have a new mgic trick though. Delivering the same order twice, 24h apart. Although the magic somehow doesn't extend to receiving double :(
All I can say is Amazon have a long way to go to become "the most customer-centric" organisation. They seem determined to go in the opposite direction.

I present 2 totally different cans of paint pretending to be the same until you see the small print (which I didn't until I found they didn't mix well)😩 .

One is oil based and the other water based. One is touch dry in 6hrs and the other 30 mins.

One requires 1 top coat, the other 2.

One covers well with good flow, the other, well, meh.

And the mfr didn't think to flag anywhere they had changed the formula and beware the differences.

Well now *you* know, so watch out.

@nafnlaus That's sort of what I imagined but assumed reality* would be much more tame.
* Not sure in what reality golf would be played above something so unstable as to pop out of green holes though.
@nafnlaus visions of golf balls dropping into their holes only to be spat out on a magma flow..
@kityates groan
@kityates I thought this was called "nominative determinism". Sometimes it seem to be the reverse condition or a near miss though. My local butcher used to be Mr Leather.
