Our friends in Florida don't like what DeSantis is doing to their state. He isn't a self-proclaimed Nazi, but he's taking some pages out of fascist playbooks. You know who else shut down libraries and burned books with scary ideas?

DeSantis started out only banning AP African American studies. Then the College Board, the creators of the Advanced Placement curricula, capitulated and watered down the course. When you give in to Nazis, do they leave you in peace? No, they want more. DeSantis is now threatening the role of the College Board in Florida.

International Baccalaureate classes are great. I knew a student from Miami who completed an IB degree. My own AP courses paled in comparison to what she studied. I don't think DeSantis is going to like IB any better though.

He just wants to pick fights and get rid of a broad liberal arts education, which is what both IB and AP provide (in addition to STEM).

The reversal of Roe v. Wade was a cataclysmic error by radical MAGA Republicans and hypocritical "conservatives" who have invaded secular politics with their religious beliefs.

Pro-life means not cutting food and cash assistance to our most vulnerable citizens. It means legislating a living wage. It means advocating for clean water and air. Pro-life is making sure that everyone has medical care and retirement benefits. And leaving people to make their own personal choices.

They said it was all about handing the choice back to the states. Since that backfired on them, they now want national restrictions put in place. If they think the backlash hurt in 2022, just wait.
