Join us for voter outreach at the March 28 NO KINGS action on the Duke Energy Trail Overpass in Clearwater! We'll be providing voter registration and mail ballot services to attendees, and soliciting pledges to vote early. We'll provide all the tools and training you need. The event is scheduled for 9am-10:30am. We’ll be there beginning at 8:30 am to get set up, and stay until the event winds down. You can volunteer to help during any time within that window that works for you. Once you sign up, we'll be in touch with more details and you can let the organizer know when you'll be there. After the event, we’ll follow up with people that pledge to make sure they have everything they need to vote!

The public is welcomed and encouraged to join Worth Fighting For! Cuba! and Good Neighbors Getting it Done in WNY as they host Republican Jim King and Democrat Aaron Gies, candidates for Congress in NY 23 at the Palmer Opera House in a discussion about the issues and challenges facing our district and how conscientious, community forward representation will help to improve the lives of all who call WNY home. King, an engineer from Owego and Gies, a professor from Olean will answer questions submitted by the audience without hype, fiction or speculation. A sincere effort to get people from all political persuasions talking not just about problems but also possible solutions that Congress could offer. These candidates are willing to do the hard work around representing this large district. It starts with in person appearances, meeting real people from all walks of life; not just lobbyists and the well connected. As always Congressman Langworthy has been invited to join us. Doors open at 6:30pm to register, submit questions and meet the candidates. Program starts at 7pm. Light refreshments will be served.

On March 10, Shawn Harris finished first in the special election for U.S. House, but we are not done yet! The runoff is April 7, with early voting March 30-April 2. Let's send Shawn Harris to be our representative in Washington, DC. Leadership Matters! Join the Polk County Democrats as we reach out to voters to tell them about the special election. We are contacting Democratic voters who need a reminder to show up for the runoff. Polk Democrats will be knocking doors and delivering campaign flyers throughout the county. Door-to-door canvassing is the most effective way to get the word out about this election and to get voters to the polls. If you haven't canvassed before, it's fun! Get to know your neighbors and remind them how important their vote is. Please wear comfortable walking shoes. Dress for the weather and bring a water bottle. Wear your Shawn Harris t-shirt, or we will give you one. We will meet in the parking lot beside McDonald's and carpool to the canvassing location.
