A long long time ago I visited Washington with a Boy Scout troop and we stopped by the Marine base and saw a drill.

That very brief experience is enough that I am confident that "parade" yesterday was the Army telling the higher ups what they thought of using the military for a birthday party.

(But that doesn't change the fact that the real question will come when some orders a lot more serious and a lot worse come through, and on that front I wouldn't use this farce as a clear indication of what would happen)

This is not mine but I'm commandeering it:

Blargh I may have to take a social media break at this rate. Too many horrors I can do nothing to stop.
